16:30-17:45 Performance by the Roma (Gypsy) Congregation in Büssü
Büssü is a small village in the county of Somogy which provides periodic agricultural work. The population has completely changed in the last 10-20 years. The number of Roma families is growing in the town, and they have a large number of children. Büssü’s population is now composed of mostly children and young people, and 80% of the 360 inhabitants are Roma. The village operates a kindergarten, 98% of the children are Roma. Büssü belongs with four neighbouring villages to a congregation of RCH with 150 members. (Interpretation is provided)

The brass band of the musical school was formed in 2003 in Felsőzsolca for the installation of the leader of the school. Since 2008 the leader and the professional organizer of the band is Attila Molnár chorister.

We will perform Hungarian, Spanish, Russian folk songs adapted by the ensemble. Children and adults play together. The songs run in Hungarian, Romani “beás” (Gypsy language), Spanish and English. The folk dance and folk songs fill an important part in the children performance. Romano Glaszo presents the pleasure of togetherness, the beauty of „tears”, dance, and playing music together.

Bill Drake and his band play rock music combined with spiritual elements. Bill Drake is the director of the artistic branch of a missionary organization called Operation Mobilization and he has served in the mission for many decades. He has released 13 albums so far. He lives in Tyrone, Georgia, near Atlanta with his family. They bring the album “Broken and Complete” to their Hungarian tour.

The music of the band – calling themselves: speed-folk freak-punk – became a new and exciting mixture: they mixed the punk, ska and the psychedelic music or their melodic themes with Hungarian, Balkan and Roma tunes. It is real energy boost band, which made the audience dance many thousand times during the years from the Baltic Sea to the Atlantic Ocean.
